Funeral arrangements in Plympton with WestCountry Funeral Service

Losing someone close is never easy. At WestCountry Funeral Service, we understand how difficult this time can be and are here to offer quiet support and clear guidance as you make funeral arrangements. Serving families in Plympton and the surrounding area, we aim to help with care, respect, and understanding.

A family funeral service with deep roots

Our funeral home, located in the historic Stannary town of Plympton, has been a quiet place of support and care for many years. Here, we carry out all our work with the respect and attention you would expect from a family-run business deeply rooted in this community.

Charles Cook oversees our Plympton office and looks after all the supplies we need to provide a thoughtful and dependable service.

On these premises, we keep our ceremonial vehicles — a black hearse, a black limousine, and a Private Ambulance — ready to serve with dignity. We also hold all the items necessary to offer a funeral service that honours tradition while gently embracing the needs of today.

We take great care in crafting and fitting our own range of FSC-approved coffins. We also personally engrave coffin and ashes casket plates, temporary grave markers, and memorial plaques with the utmost respect and attention to detail.

We keep a selection of oak and mahogany ashes caskets and scatter tubes, alongside our collection of flags and medal cushions, which may be used to dress coffins when requested. Whether it’s a full military funeral, a patriotic tribute with the flag of St. Pirran, or other special requests, we are here to help.

We are often called upon to assist with international repatriation and the transfer of loved ones within the UK, supported by our long-standing connections with fellow funeral professionals across the country.

With nearly forty years of experience, Richard Walter Parson and his dedicated team are here to guide and support you, offering gentle advice and care as you plan the funeral service that feels right for your family.

If you would like to talk or need assistance, please know that we are here to listen and help in any way we can.

“Having recently been to two family funerals with this company, I would strongly recommend them. I found them to be very knowledgeable, helpful and understanding at a time when it feels that your world has been turned upside down. Thanks Rich and team!”
